March 20, on her 5 months birthday, Morgan flew to Atlanta to visit her Aunt Robin! She was the perfect baby as usual and had no problems flying either way. We went to the King Tut exhibit and went gaga over all of the fantastic gold jewelry. Morgan loved Aunt Robin's dog Daisey and could not stop staring at her! We visited with Aunt Robin's family and enjoyed a beautiful church service on Sunday. On this trip, Morgan began giggling for the first time! She was cranky and Holly was trying to sooth her- she bounced her in her arms and with in minutes she was laughing like crazy!

March
Morgan has hit so many milestones this month. She can roll over from front to back and back to front. We thought we were at the end of the swaddle, but she still loves to be a baby burrito and we are going to keep it as along as she sleeps through the night with it!! She learned how to put her paci in all by herself- which is just adorable to watch! She is talking even more and while she still looks just like her dad- she is showing she has Holly's strong personality! She has a smile for anyone she meets and will play shy when she first meets them.
Mid-March she caught the flu and had her first fever. Even when she had a fever of 102.9- she smiled at the doctor and was blowing bubbles! The poor thing had non-stop snot running out and after a few days developed a mild ear infection. The doctor put her on medication which caused her to projectile vomit- which led to 7 outfits in one day- for her and for mommy! Luckily, the ear infection cleared quickly and we could stop the medicine.
At her four month check up, Morgan weighed 14 pounds and 10 ounces and was 25 and 3/4 inches long! The doctor said she has great muscle tone and will probably sit up early. She got her next round of shots and had no after effects, thank goodness! Morgan was in the 75th %tile for height and 65%tile for weight.
As of 3/24, Morgan weighed 15 pounds and 2 ounces!

February
Morgan is growing up so quickly! On 2/4 she weighed 13 pounds and 2 ounces and on 2/23 she weighed 14 pounds and 7 ounces. She has begun to pull herself up and is grabbing away at anything you dangle in front of her. This month she has really begun to exercise her voice. Each night she talks to her daddy and melts our hearts. As Holly's Nana put it- when Morgan is hungry- that is it for everyone else until she is fed- she is very loud when she is upset! During the month, Morgan met even more of her parents college friends and even witnessed a polar bear plunge! She also enjoyed her first large snowfall and enjoyed the snow from the comforts of her bumbo seat.
Although Morgan would scream her little lungs out after a few minutes of tummy time, she has now begun to push her head up quite well. She loves to hear her mommy and daddy yell good job or give her kisses for doing it over and over again. This month Morgan perfected the crying and smiling at the same time.

Baptism
On Feb. 15th, Morgan and Jake were baptized at First Lutheran Church. Both beauties were perfect and did not fuss one bit! They were joined by 75 friend and family members and lucky for us, Grammy and Cappy have a huge house and were able to host the after party! Morgan wore Holly and Tracey's christening gown which they wore so many years ago. Holly and her cousin Michael who is two weeks younger were also baptized together in 1980.

Washington DC
Holly, Chris, and Morgan traveled to Washington DC with Mom-mom, Grandpa, Aunt Tracey, Uncle Dennis, Kailey, Jake, and Gracen for visit the National Air and Space Museum. The kids loved the planetarium and enjoyed the "Wright" brothers exhibit. It was a beautiful day and we were able to walk the mall to visit the Capital Building. On our hike, we watched a hawk drown a pigeon in a small rainwater pond- a very random event!

January
January was the month of big changes. Morgan moved from her cozy bassinet in her parents room to her own crib on 1/1/09. She did wonderful and slept through the night! With each passing day, Morgan continued to look like a mini-Chris! Holly returned to work in late January- much against her wishes and learned that it is hard to do it all! Her class made it so wonderful to be back and she quickly adjusted to the new lifestyle. Morgan rolled over at the end of the month and was excited to show Holly's family how she loved to do this. Morgan also discovered her fingers and anytime she can put them in her mouth she does! She hasn't quite got the thumb in yet- but her knuckle works just fine. Morgan and Jake continue to hang out and talk baby talk- More like Morgan tries to lick him! Morgan also continues to meet all of her parents friends who just love all the smiles she gives them. She also met her playmate Ryan Fersch! We also discovered that Morgan absolutely loves bathtime. She gets in the tub and her legs kick like crazy and she pats the water!
