6-Month Check-up

At Morgan's 6 month doctors appointment, she was all smiles! She was 17 pounds and 2 ounces and 26 inches long. She grew 1/4 of an inch and gained 3 pounds 8 ounces in 7 weeks! And that is without any baby food yet! That put her in the 75th %tile for weight, 70th %tile for height and 85th %tile for her head! The doctor said she has a bit of an iron deficiency, but I quote the doctor "the big ones always do"! I guess that means our girl is a big one! He put her on an iron supplement and we go back in 6 weeks for a recheck.

Back to the Beach and Daddy's 30th Birthday!

For Chris' 30th birthday, we headed down to Ocean City, MD. Morgan enjoyed the ride, but about 30 minuted before we arrived, she decided she had had enough. After a few hysterical moments, mommy cranked the radio and Morgan magically stopped crying and survived the last 10 minutes to the beach house. Morgan was so adorable in her baby bathing suit (one-pieces only for this girl) and getting to go on the beach. Morgan did not try to put the sand in her mouth- amazingly- since everything else she grabs goes there! Holly made sure to lube the baby up with 55 spf and learned to lube the baby naked- then get her dressed! The weekend had the best weather to help Chris celebrate the big 30! This weekend it became clear that Morgan absolutely loves playing peek-a-boo. She was rolling around in her orange blanket and she would just go crazy when we played peek-a-boo with her. Morgan has also discovered she can now gnaw on her toes!

Green Beans

Morgan started green beans on April 26- and man was that a funny scene! She didn't quite know what to do with the taste- and ended up gagging by the end. The next day she ate them with no problem at all- she just loves food so much!

Hmmm.. What's this?
Today was a great day for Morgan- she finally got to get her little hands on some food! For the past few weeks she has been grabbing at food and watching us eat with very curious eyes. Per doctors orders, we waited until she was 6 months old. We gave her cereal for the first time for dinner. As expected she tried to gobble it up even though most of it came right back out.We didn't give her too much in fear of an upset tummy, but she did great! While we were feeding her, Harley Cat decided she wanted to come check out what the big fuss was all about. She decided baby cereal was not for her :) We recorded this video of cereal time....

Morgan's First Slumber Party and Kids Fun Run

On April 18, 2009, Morgan's two girl cousins Kailey and Gracen spent the night. By the time we arrived home from dinner- Miss Morgan was a wee bit over tired. She loved having her cousins in the car, but passed out soon after we got home. The next morning, we took the nieces to the Clyde's fun run in Columbia. The plan was for Aunt Hol to run with the girls while Key (as the girls call Chris) hung out with Morgan. Well, as it turns out, Holly and Morgan ran with the girls while Key was the turn around post for the fun run. Morgan slept the whole run- even with some off road adventures! Holly quickly discovered she is really out of shape!!

Party Girl!

Morgan attended her first friend birthday party! Her buddy Ryan Fersch turned 1 with a party at Clark's Elioak Farm. We really had a blast looking at all of the animals and going on a hayride! Morgan was so excited by all of the different animals she got to see and even pet! Today we really noticed how much Morgan is able to sit up on her own. She loves being able to see the world from a whole new perspective!
